Last month, our team had the incredible privilege of attending the Kingdom Advisors Conference: Redeeming Money 2025 at the Orlando World Centre Marriott. With over 2,700 financial professionals gathered including a good number of Canadian professionals, the energy in the room was inspiring.
We weren’t just there to talk about numbers, markets, or strategies—we were there to explore what it truly means to redeem money. To shift our mindset from simply making financial decisions to help investors in stewarding wealth with intention and purpose, and the whole experience was nothing short of transformational.
Our team had the privilege of hearing from insightful speakers like Pastor Louie Giglio, football quarterback Tim Tebow, and financial expert Michael Kitces. Each of them brought something unique to the table—encouragement, wisdom and even a few challenges that made us rethink how we approach finance.
One of the messages that stood out for me: The idea of a Redemptive Approach to finance. Typically, the financial services industry employs the first 2 below approaches – Exploitative and Ethical. The 3rd which is a redemptive approach is a challenging concept for me as it requires selflessness and the willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.
-
The Exploitative Approach – A zero-sum mindset where one party benefits at the expense of another ("You lose, I win")-using people
-
The Ethical Approach – A fair and balanced perspective where both parties benefit ("I win, you win")-respecting people
-
The Redemptive Approach – A higher calling that requires sacrifice for the greater good ("I sacrifice, we win")- blessing people
The concept of redemption—giving something of value in exchange for the freedom, restoration, or renewal of something or someone—became a foundational theme for me at the conference. This idea challenged us to reimagine investing not just as a means of profit generation but as an opportunity for creative restoration through sacrifice.
It underscored that there is a higher, more meaningful way to engage in finance—one where we invest with intentionality, steward resources for the greater good, and operate with a heart for transformation rather than mere transactions. This message set the tone for everything that followed, inspiring a shift in perspective: that financial services can be more than just ethical or profitable—they can be redemptive, bringing lasting impact and flourishing to individuals, communities, and the world.
We learned a lot not only from the speakers but with each interaction with peers and new connections. If you want to chat about what Capstone is all about and how we can add value to you in your journey in faith and finances, our team at Capstone Asset Management is here to help, let’s talk.
